Below I give some of the best sites that I know of. They are all categorically listed and have been given a mark out of five. If you have any suggestions of websites that should be put up here then feel free to tell me. I'll put them up as soon as possible. I have finally put these up on another page now, four printed page of links was too much on the main page.
Huma Ahmad's Mammalistic Links
or
Huma Ahmad's Mammalistic Links*****
Huma has the best Islamic links site worldwide on her page. Well maintained and listed.
Use this as an Islamic portal site. The site has now been updated and moved to its own
domain. However the site is now being maintained by another person so I don't
know if this is a mirror or the original site.
Muslim Directory ***
Based in London this is a website with links to other Islamic websites, an Eid-card page
and a directory of all the Islamic places in England. This is the best Islamic directory
so it is well worth a link.
Markazi Anjuman Khaddam-ul-Quran *****
Run by Dr.Israr Ahmed's party. This website contains the whole translation and
transliteration of the Holy Quran in Urdu on this website in Real Audio format. It also
has his Friday sermons posted up every week. Research papers and other contributors
speeches are on this website as well. An excellent site for those wishing to learn more
about the Quran.
Jang Group's Web Page *****
This site is brilliant it has up to date information which is continually
updated in real-time. Its Urdu Jang section is also brilliant (Now in Urdu 98 format as
well, giving a more natural appearance). Read the News on Sunday and the other sections
which are excellent as well.
At the moment they are using a font called Rahman
as well which is meant to be easy to use yet I don't see how because the file is
about 8MB to download and has to be accessed through their custom software thus
not allowing you to use download managers :(. However the biggest gripe I find
with it is that the fonts are just a pain in the neck to use half the time
because you constantly have to select user defined coding to see what is
happening.
Also to be able to see webpages encoded in the Rahman font method you need
to install 70 odd fonts as well like the Inpage system which to me seems to be a
pretty cack-handed way of doing things.
Seeing that the Jang Group is so heavily attacking the government over the tax
debate and is saying the press's freedom is under siege. Well I agree that the government
is using some under-arm techniques in this whole incident. However you might be interested
to know that I sent two e-mails which mildly criticised the Jang Group and Guess what,
both e-mails were not put up in the opinions section. Talk about selective criticism.
UrduPoint
***
A very good Pakistani web-site in Urdu. Lots of articles, media,
online books, and information about Pakistan and events from a Pakistani perspective.
The
Story of Pakistan *****
The most comprehensive reference website on the political history of Pakistan
there is on the web. It has articles on Pakistan's history, its leaders and
political events. It is a must if you want to know more about Pakistan's history
in depth.
www.pakwatan.com
Pakwatan.com:- Pakwatan.com is a grand site aiming to uncover
everything Pakistan has to offer and bring it to the world market. It contains a
broad array of features ranging from Online Shopping to Pakistani embassies,
Pakistani Business Directory, Pakistani Exporters Directory, Matrimonial
Match-Making, Free e-Mail, and detailed information on Islam. Besides, the site
also offers a compact set of information on the history, culture and political
parties of Pakistan.
The Pakistan Chronicles: http://pakistanspace.tripod.com/
The website is based on 'The Life and Times of
Pakistan' by Khurram Ali Shafique. The site intends to create an understanding
of the past from a liberal point of view, for peace, harmony and humanism. The
site covers the first 50 years of Pakistan. It also presents historic documents,
such as important statements made by the leaders, contemporary opinions,
editorials of old newspapers and eye-witness accounts by the participants in the
events listed on the pages of 'The Life and Times of Pakistan'.
The two collections reflect a period of momentous change in South Asia that culminated in the emergence of two independent states. They are unique sources for the study of the Muslim Freedom Movement in South Asia and of the political and personal life of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. |

PakPower
Page **
This site is a search engine/directory list which keeps information on all sites related
to Pakistan. Go here to find all the stuff on Pakistan that most major search engines
fail to give.
Saher ***
Another good Pakistani internet magazine with lots of good sections (e.g Humour, Films
etc.).
Junoon's Official Website ***
The official website includes the bands views, details, their pictures,
forthcoming events and discography etc. This website has undergone something of a
transformation over the last month or so (200) so now everything on the page is updated
regularly however the pointless Flash interface is a pain in the neck.
Their Biography details need to be
updated though (No mention of Pul-Do-Pul in Ali's acting achievements ?). Still a
brilliant site for all Junooni's and anybody interested in Pakistan's once best Rock band.
The discussion forum is also quite good unless the admin start censoring it
again.
Fahad's Junoon page **
Nearly all Junoon's lyrics, their pictures collected from all over the web, a Junoon icon
a desktops themes pack, and lots more. The best effort by a Junoon fan I have ever seen.
He has some MP3's and videos from the Ishq Album as well.
Vital Sign's Website ****
The Official Vital Signs website is pretty good, but they could put up
updated information more regularly. What about some discography guys. Its got awesome
links though.
Pakimp3.com
*****
The best Pakistani music web-site I know of. It simply has the
largest number of Pakistani MP3 songs you will ever find. You can even find
songs from the MCC era :) Their is a limit of 10 MB downloads per day and you do
need to register at the site but that's not too much to ask for when the service
is so good is it?
The navigation is good and the site has kept interaction easy.
MuziqPakistan.net*****
A very good he best Pakistani music web-site I know of. It simply has the
largest number of realaudio songs you will ever find. Also try out its affiliate
sites which are linked to from this site because the other sites also have more
songs but also in MP3 format as well sometimes.
The navigation is good and the site has kept interaction easy.

Pakistani Music Website by Zeeshan
***
A very good Pakistani music web-site. Lots of articles, media,
album reviews and information about Pakistani Artists. Links to all the other good
Pakistani Music websites as well.
Kaatib And Raakim From Faisal Chughtai
***** (For the downloads not the design {Boy is the design bad ;) })
This is where I first obtained Kaatib and Raakim from. Without this I would not have been
able to have a great interest in Urdu Word-Processing. Those two downloads changed my
whole Urdu computing life. It is from these files that I built up the whole Urdu section.
The files on his site are in the plain DOS version. So download them if my files
are corrupted or if you know what you're doing. Seeing this site took me back to 1997 when
I first got the files, Ahh! Sheer Nostalgia.
ParseNagar with Umair1 Font and Umair Keyboard
definition File *****
Download Parsenagar from this website along with the Umair1 font and its definition file.
A site which is excellent. Macintosh/Unix users however will not benefit from this site
(Correct to my knowledge as of 15th
March 1999) as the Umair1 font is only a windows compatible website.
Merely downloading the Umair1 font and installing it lets you view Urdu WebPages on
the internet, to which this site has lots of links. It also lets you send and receive Urdu
e-mails. However downloading Parsenagar along with the Umair1 keyboard definition file
lets you not only create Urdu files but also Urdu WebPages. Good Assistance and
documentation is also available on the site.
Parsenagar is a Windows 3.11 program so remember the 8 character filename
definition.
Parsenagar's with Urdunaqsh Font and Urdu Naqsh
keyboard definition file *****
The Urdu Naqsh font on this website can be viewed on any Unix, Macintosh and Windows
computer. The keyboard definition file for Urdu Naqsh is also excellent. This section of
Ali Shah's website also gives tips on how to create your own Urdu HTML pages. He espouses
using DHTML to create your webpages, however I failed to comprehend how to do this, maybe
you might have better luck.
Tabish
Qureshi's Dynamic Urdu Naqsh Font and U-TRANS Urdu translation Package
What can I say about Tabish except that he has worked very hard to produce which
would help lots and lots of people. Not only has he implemented the Urdu Naqsh
Nastalique font on a major web site but he has also created a dynamic version of
it which means the user does not need to have the font installed on their
system. And as if that wasn't enough he made a program which allows you to write
Urdu into a HTML file without the need of a Urdu Page Composer.
How does he do this? Well you simply need to write in ArabTex
Style pseudo Urdu, and then use the program at a Dos-Prompt to convert the file
(of type .utx) into a HTML file which will have all the Urdu text written in it.
This is ideal for people who can write Pseudo Urdu easily but have difficulty in
writing Urdu. Give it a try, I think you will like it.

Arabic products. For more details see my Urdu page.
Urdu 98 *****
This is a brilliant site. It leads the way in showing how Urdu should be implemented on
the web. Look at the examples, which you can download as well. They'll blow your mind
away. Also read about Ruqaa the new Urdu e-mail program. For more details see my
Urdu page.
PC Plus UK's Web Site **
This is definitely the place to go to for any Programming help. Free full-program
downloads and a link to Paul Stephen's HTML experts web-page. Go to Paul's page to learn
lots of things about HTML that you didn't know.
Html Goodies *****
This site is the best place to learn HTML from, everything's here.
Netmag ***
A good Pakistani internet magazine with regularly updated hardware prices as well.

A good Pakistani internet magazine with lots of good links every month. See the Top 10

Fahad's Web Page:****
Fahad Aziz is my friend. He has a good Webpage with very good links. Give
him a visit I'm sure you'll find him to be an interesting person. His webpage also
inspired me to create my own.
Shazias Webpage ***
I found this page invaluable when trying to learn Javascript. I learnt the coding for the
Hyperlink's onMouseOver event from here. Thank's a million for the Javascript.

Nes Roms. Even better he's got a link to me :)
