Fonts (For Windows Users)
Download any fonts that you may need to view any Urdu webpages. I am uploading
any fonts I have here because sadly it seems Umair1 is now very hard to get of
after the site closed down :( To save any of
the files right-click on it and select Save-File as or Save target as

At the moment I
only have definition files for UrduNaqsh. To save any of
the files right-click on it and select Save-File as or Save target as
Windows
XP Urdu Phonetic Keyboard Layout Files
Use these files to allow yourself to be able to type in Windows
XP and 2000 using
the Phonetic Layout for Urdu Keyboards. Use the common sense approach not Billy
Boys :)

ParsNegar I & II Definition Files
To create any of your own Urdu documents in ParsNegar you will need these
files. To setup an Urdu font in ParsNegar you need two files
- The Font
Definition File (This tells ParsNegar the language rules to be applied to
the font)
- The Keyboard
Definition File (This tells ParsNegar how the layout of the keyboard will
be for the font)
All the required files have been combined in a package to make life easier. Please
install both files to ensure your selected font is setup properly.
You can use ParsNegar I definition files in ParsNegar II but it does
complain in the case of Urdu Naqsh and Urdu Nastalique. I have placed both files
in the package so you can choose as you see fit. To save any of
the files right-click on it and select Save-File as or Save target as.

Here I have put up for download only version I of ParsNegar because I
cannot upload ParsNegar II because of its file size. However if you wish to
download it you can download it directly from ParsNegar's
Website.
Kaatib
And Raakim Download
The great free Urdu Dos editors are here for you :) I know they are
only DOS programs but too put it honestly it still beats the competition hands
down for free no-quibbles Urdu DTP. Perhaps I should make my own free version of
Kaatib/Raakim :)
Kaatib and Raakim are not big programs but because there is a limit on 1MB
files I cannot upload them in a single file to this server. I created a installation program
for it which you can download from my alternative website on Geocities
However if you choose to you can also download the program as a single zip
file. Which is available at the same site as well.
Thus you can download the separate files or the combined file if you wish. However to give
you a bit of an easier life I have made a Program Group Creator which will
create shortcuts to the program on your Start-menu. Now aren't I nice :)
So to recount there are two methods of
installing Kaatib and Raakim on your system.

Use the Self-Installing
Executable/Program File (Installs and configures Kaatib/Raakim
automatically)

Download the Kaatib and
Raakim Zip Files + Program Group File Creator

You
can use this program just like any normal Windows installation program to
install Kaatib and Raakim. It will automatically create a program shortcut for
you on the Start-Bar and create an installation routine for you as well. I hope
this makes installing Kaatib and Raakim much easier for everyone.
This file has been uploaded as a zip file even though it is a exe file to
allow it to be uploaded. When saving please make sure you download the file as a
.exe file. If you do not know how to do so please read the instructions that
follow.
How
to Save the Installation Zip Files as a Exe File
To download this file you will need to right click
the file and then:
If using IE Save Target as -> Then change save as type to any files -> and
finally save the file as type .exe as shown below
If using Netscape Right-Click the file and choose Save Link As -> And then
save the the file as type .exe as shown Below
